Invasion of the Giant Pythons

Public hearing on federal funds set across Wyoming
By Wyoming Business Report Staff

CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Business Council encourages Wyoming residents to participate in a public hearing to gather input on the draft 2012 Annual Action Plan that outlines the use of U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds for Wyoming programs.

The state receives funding for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, administered by the Wyoming Community Development Authority; the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) and Housing for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), administered by the Wyoming Department of Health, and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program administered by the Wyoming Business Council.

Wyoming, therefore, is required to prepare an annual action plan, which describes the resources expected to be available to address the needs identified in a previous Consolidated Plan; the method for and geographic distribution of funds; the activities planned to address housing, homelessness and other special needs activities; non-housing community and economic development activities; as well as other actions it intends to take during the next year.

A public hearing will be held in several locations around the state through the Wyoming Video Conference System. Representatives from the Wyoming Business Council, the Wyoming Community Development Authority and the Wyoming Department of Health will make presentations.

The hearing is scheduled on June 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following locations:
  • Basin: Retirement Center, 890 Hwy 20 South
